The Hospice Charity Fund “Vera” was looking for a photographer-volunteer to make photo series on Mrs.Ilona Absandze. Ilona is a physical therapist. Officially you will not find this profession in Russia. But thanks God you will find physical therapists. Physical therapists are specialists in evaluating and treating disorders of the human body primarily by physical means. PTs evaluate the functioning of the musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary (skin) systems and apply the appropriate treatment to alleviate pain and improve physical function.
Mostly Ilona focuses on the children with palliative deceases, who are practically largely limited in all kinds of movements and motions. That time Ilona planned to make a kind of bedding cast for a chairbound girl. The new bedding should keep the body in a more comfortable position. That may reduce the deformation of internal organs and pain, as well as psychological discomfort.
Ilona firstly forms the bedding cast, then scans it. The bedding will be produced in Denmark according to the virtual model sent from Moscow. There is a chance that the new bedding will fit the existing carriage frame, so a considerable amount will be saved at the family budget, pressed by high expenses for treatment of the girl.
ИЛОНА АБСАНДЗЕ, ФИЗИЧЕСКИЙ ТЕРАПЕВТ
Фонду «Вера» и детскому хоспису «Дом с маяком» нужен был фотограф-волонтер для съемки работы Илоны Абсандзе. Илона – физический терапевт. Официально такой профессии в России нет. Но, слава Богу, есть физические терапевты. Задача такого специалиста восстановить, поддержать или развить движения человека после травмы или помочь человеку, ограниченному в движениях болезнью.
Илона много работает с детьми с неизлечимыми заболеваниями, часто полностью лишенными способности самостоятельно не только передвигаться, но и двигаться.
В этот раз Илона делала слепок кресла для лежачей девочки, которое удерживало бы деформированное тело в более комфортном положении. Это необходимо для того, чтобы внутренние органы ребенка в меньшей степени страдали от анатомических искажений, чтобы снизить болевые ощущения и психологический дискомфорт.
Илона делает слепок кресла или, скорее, ложа. Потом, сканирует его. Оно будет сделано по виртуальной модели в Дании. Если получится, то новое ложе будет установлено в нынешнюю коляску, а это сэкономит деньги родителей, и без того несущих огромные расходы на лечение дочери.
